In a short sentence, tell us what you do in your current role?
As the Account Manager I am responsible from developing relationships with our current customers/partners and generating new opportunities for the company. In my day-to-day work I also build reports, deal with any client queries and manage in-house projects.
Did you choose the insurance profession or did it choose you?
The insurance game chose me. I knew a friend who was the Sales Manager at Jigsaw and I had advised I was looking for a sales role. Luckily he had a spot going, I interviewed and the rest is history.
What is something that people are obsessed with, but you just don’t get?
Cocktails/making of cocktails. Cocktails really get on my nerves. Bars always seem to have two people serving as soon as one big group orders cocktails, we are down to one bar person and it takes 30 minutes to get two pints. Bars should either employ one extra member of staff who just makes the cocktails in the back and takes them to the table or just no cocktails. I like option two better.
What is your biggest frustration with modern technology?
Passwords. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very grateful for them and I don’t have an alternative solution for not having a password but nothing frustrates me more when I’m trying to log into something and I get that dreaded message “password is incorrect”. You then go through the whole reset password farce, you type in a new password and the screen pops up with “you cannot use the same password again” ARGH!!!
What do you do when you’re not working?
I am a very keen sportsman. I play semi-prrofessional rugby for Harrogate 1st XV with over 150 caps. I have played rugby all my life, it was my first love. When I’m not playing rugby I also like to be on the golf course (that’s if my partner lets me out).
What was the last book you read or movie/box set you watched?
The book I’m reading at the moment is Stephen Hawking’s “A brief history of time”. I know, a little geeky, but space fascinates me.
Who’s your go-to band or artist when you can’t decide what music to listen to?
I’m not huge with music, but I do like to listen to a bit of 60s. The Kinks, The Beach Boys, etc.
Past or present, which five guests would you invite to your dream dinner party?
- Tiger woods

- Michael Jordan

- Megan Fox (you never know)
