Following the introduction of the Civil Liability Act, small personal injury claims (under the value of £5,000) can now be processed directly by the customer on the newly created online OIC portal. However, for these claims, the customer will no longer benefit from legal representation unless they choose to instruct their own appointed legal representative or purchase a motor legal expenses product that will cover legal costs in the event of a claim.
As a market-leading claims management provider of hire, repair and mobility services, Kindertons has taken a personal responsibility to work in close collaboration with their business partners to deliver a credible solution which offers customers real value and the appropriate levels of protection they will now need in a post-reform world.
By providing customers with a Kindertons motor legal expenses policy, they will continue to benefit from legal representation at no cost, regardless of the limit of their claim – giving customers peace of mind and valuable support and guidance if required.
Kindertons strive to always deliver ‘best of breed’ products, always with the customer claim journey in mind. They have therefore used this opportunity to also further enhance the level of cover they offer. By choosing a Kindertons motor legal expenses policy, a customer will now also benefit from the following new heads of cover:
- Vehicle servicing and repair disputes
- Vehicle purchase disputes
- Vehicle contract disputes*
- Overseas vehicle hire disputes
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Replacement vehicle and vehicle repairs**
*including hire purchase, lease and PCPs to cover issues regarding vehicle return and condition, excess mileage charges etc.
**subject to damage caused by the negligent or wilful act of a third party
The Kindertons motor legal expenses product is underwritten by RSA, an ‘A’ rated UK insurer.
