Horizon Underwriting

24th January 2020

January 2020 sees Horizon Underwriting (Horizon), the specialist Mid and High Net Worth underwriting agency, launch an exciting new partnership with leading smart-home technology provider Hive to tackle escape of water

Escape of water damage is one of the most common types of domestic property damage claims, with insurers paying out £1.8 million for it every single day*.

Horizon are keen to move away from the traditional insurance approach of repair and replace to predict and prevent – helping their clients limit and remove damage from escape of water losses. They feel it is time to innovate the industry, make a stand and make a positive change.

Therefore, all your clients taking out a policy with Horizon will benefit from a Hive Leak Sensor within their main home, which will be issued following inception of a new business policy or renewal of an existing policy.

  • Horizon have embedded the Hive offering inside their policy wordings
  • They have integrated their system with Hive so they can seamlessly understand when a sensor is activated and, if not, communicate with you
  • They are going to help protect your clients from unwanted leaks and, if they do occur, can provide access via the Hive app to a friendly local plumber.
  • Horizon will waive your client’s excess following a claim for escape of water loss, providing the Hive Leak Sensor was fitted and operational at the time of the loss.

Is it time to re-think your mid and high net worth insurance provider so your clients can benefit from the added protection a Hive Leak Sensor brings as part of a policy with Horizon? To find out more, please speak to your Blink IS Business Development Manager.
