Welcome to the first Guess Who of 2024, where we interview an insurance industry expert, asking our favourite questions to get to know them a little better!
In a short sentence, tell us what you do in your current role at Ridersure.
My current position is Broker Manager, I look after Ridersure operations.
How would your work colleagues describe you in three words?
I asked my team this question and it started a great conversation, getting everyone thinking about what all our three words would be. The final answer for me was ‘Dedicated, Helpful and Knowledgeable.’
What motivates you to work hard?
Successful outcomes, whether it is personal, colleagues' success or goals being reached by the company.
You’re on a work night out at the local karaoke bar…what song are you singing?
Tequila – my memory of song lyrics and timing is horrendous and this is the perfect song with minimal words. An added bonus is that it’s just so catchy, that everyone will be singing it for the rest of the night!
Where is your dream destination to live when you retire?
A lovely old character cottage in the middle of the countryside with plenty of room for horses and dogs to roam around the garden with lots of woodland walks by the backdoor.
If you could offer one piece of advice to someone just starting out in the industry, what would it be?
Decide what you want to achieve, and then act as if it were impossible to fail. If you don’t try you will never know if you will succeed at your task and if things don’t work out the first time use it as a learning experience to improve on your next try. Always believe in yourself and your abilities!
What motivational quote most resonates with you?
‘Learning is not a destination, it is a continuous journey.’ I have always been of the mind that throughout life we will never stop learning new skills and it's great to embrace this on your life’s journey.
