How to use networking to drive your marketing campaign

Networking is a tried and tested way to build professional development to help achieve business goals. While some people are natural networkers, others find it difficult. The good news is that there are myriad ways to network, such as attending digital events or simply interacting with other professionals on social media. Either way, networking can be an effective way to build a marketing strategy and optimise its success. Here’s how to use networking to help perfect your digital marketing campaign.

Network with influencers

Influencers who have hordes of contacts and ‘influence’ in their field are good to know and can provide businesses of virtually all sizes and sectors with opportunities to grow. Even an industry like insurance has its influencers that thousands of people follow, and are enthusiastically talked about.

Use networking events to meet so-called influencers who have a large social media following. Strike up a professional relationship with them and ask them to advertise your business brand. You could always offer something in return, such as services or products at a reduced rate.

Give away brand freebies at networking events

Don’t go to a networking event empty handed. As well as taking your business card, take brand ‘freebies’ to hand out. Whether it’s pens and mugs, or free samples of your products, providing other attendees with a branded gift will help them remember your company. Even if the event is online, ask the other attendees if you can send them a free gift. They are likely to reciprocate the gesture 

Meet new prospects

Use networking events, not only to grow your professional network, but also as a means of meeting prospective clients. Go to networking events that your target audience will be attending, and are therefore likelier to be interested in your products and services. For insurers, this should not be too difficult, as most demographics require insurance in various forms.
